Succession Planning

Succession is complex and challenging and not like any other business skill due to the nature of farm management and family issues. Succession involves:

  • identifying the successor
  • ensuring adequate provisions for the retiring farmer
  • addressing equity/fairness through estate planning for all siblings
  • the transitioning of a viable and profitable farm to the next generation
  • being able to communicate the plan
